As an authorised treatment facility, J Wallis Metals operate to the End of Life Vehicles Regulations 2003.
We will process your log book, notify the DVLA and issue a certificate of destruction at the end. It is that simple.
Scrap cars can either be brought in by you or we offer a FREE collection service. Not only will we give you the best price for your scarp car, we handle all your paperwork for you giving you peace of mind that the job has been done correctly.

Process your car goes through
Once we have your scrap car in our yard we will remove the tyres, all fluids will be drained and the battery will be removed. Once we are happy that all pollutants have been removed from the vehicle it will be crushed and scrapped. This process can only be carried out by an authorised treatment facility (ATF) who have all the equipment to comply with the 2003 regulations.

Keeping your cars registration plate
If you wish to keep your registration number, this will need to be processed before you scrap your car. You can find details of how to do this on the direct.gov website.

Certificate of destruction

The End-of-Life vehicle regulations 2003 require that if you want to scrap your car you may only do so at an authorised treatment facility (ATF).
The ATF will issue a certificate of destruction (COD). The document terminates your responsibility as the registered keeper of the vehicle.

End of Life Vehicle Regulations

The End of Life Vehicles (ELV) Regulations 2003 aims to reduce the amount of waste from scrap vehicle (Cars and Vans).
